Manchester Untied played FC Porto to a 2-2 draw in their UEFA Champions League semifinal matchup. Manchester United did not look sharp in this match, their defense was sorely missing Rio Ferdinand. Man utd gave up the first goal 14′ into the match. They then rallied with goals by Wayne Rooney and the clutch player in Carlos Tevez scoring in the 85′ minute. But the defense played like they played all game, leaving FC Porto players unmarked. FC Porto’s Mariano Gonzales scored the equalizer in the 89′ minute. Its going to be tough for Manchester United to play in FC Porto next week without a goal advantage. FC Porto seems to have Manchester United’s number.

Sir Alex Ferguson once again went with one striker in Wayne Rooney and started Ji-Sung Park. We still think that this a mistake for these big games. You have to put another striker up there with Wayne Rooney to put more pressure on the opponents. Wayne Rooney barely had good touches yesterday. His goal was from a fluke mistake by FC Porto’s defense. With only a lone striker they keyed in on everyone else like Cristiano Ronaldo. He himself did not even have quality looks at the net. What it comes down to is defense. Johnny Evans and John O’Shea just looked lost back there.

Here are the video goal highlights for the Manchester United vs FC Porto UEFA Semifinals Champions League match.

Rodriguez 4′

Rooney 15′

Tevez 85′

Gonzalez 89′
